At the heart of our optical product offerings is the same core component – unique integrated optical chips, the platform upon which we build our innovations.

By applying integration to optoelectronics, in the same way that the semiconductor industry did for electronics, we combine multiple functions into a single integrated device. This allows us to make a laser transmitter, with integrated light source (laser), data encoding (modulation) and electronic driver into a single component – effectively replacing three discrete components with a single integrated device.

As a result, our chip volumes are maximised, taking full advantage of economies of scale for chip manufacturing. In essence, our technology innovations are providing us with benefits traditionally found within the semiconductor industry.
